A Life Ignored
Lucky was raised in a puppy mill and was given away for free; rejection was a recurring theme in his life. No one seemed to be able to see his true beauty. He never had the opportunity to prove his merits or win the love he so dearly deserved. Because they couldn’t afford to take care of him or keep him for very long, several families passed him by.
An Unfavorable Situation
The last place Lucky lived wasn’t the best. His old family in Austin, Texas abandoned him and left him outside for extended periods of time, with his strapped to a tree. After Lucky was rejected by the family’s cats, he was left on his own in the yard. He didn’t have a comfortable place to sleep or enough food. It feels like an impossible ideal to be loved and cared for.
When the family decided to move, Lucky was tossed out without a second thought. The family contacted a local dog shelter, hoping to find him a new home.
A Sliver of Hope
The volunteers at the shelter initially encountered resistance when trying to find Lucky a foster home due to his appearance. People judged him solely on the basis of his appearance, ignoring his love and commitment.
Thankfully, a ray of hope emerged from the darkness. A volunteer at the shelter trained Lucky and shared pictures of him on social media. He was unaware that this insignificant act would change Lucky’s life forever.
A Giving Spirit Arrives
The benevolent Jamie Hult discovered Lucky’s pictures on social media. The instant she felt a connection with him, she knew she had to meet him. “I want that dog.” “I want to take that dog, I don’t even want to foster it,” Jamie declared to the shelter.
Maintaining Good Luck
Jamie was taken aback by Lucky’s appearance when they first met. He had endured years of abuse and neglect. Among the challenges Lucky faced were malnourishment, fleas, worms, and the absence of a microchip.
Even though the effort to heal him was an uphill battle, Jamie never wavered in his devotion. She welcomed him into her home, ready to give him the love and care he so sorely needed.
Jamie’s unwavering support enabled Lucky to find his forever home. He began to heal and thrive gradually. Despite the challenging path, Lucky overcame all odds and made an incredible recovery.
He was about to pass away. He was inside the oxygen tank for a week. He was so infested that before I could even have an MRI to figure out what was happening, I had to pay almost $8000 for treatment. “He was like skin and bones,” Jamie remarked.
Almost Dead, a Victorious Love
Jamie was willing to go to any lengths to help Lucky recover. She paid any amount to ensure his safety, despite the journey seemed dubious. The fact that Lucky lived was proof positive of the love and care he received.
“He was successful. He is doing well medically. There is no threat to him. Just take care of this particular pet however you see fit, and I’ll pay the bills. I don’t mind. Jamie encouraged her veterinarian, “Don’t be shy.”
Lucky’s life completely turned around because to Jamie’s unwavering love and the support of the veterinarians. These days, he is a picture of wellbeing and contentment.
Respecting Unwavering Beauty
Despite being ridiculed and scrutinized for his appearance, Lucky taught Jamie an invaluable lesson about acceptance and beauty. She refused to let others make assumptions about him based only on his appearance. Jamie began making ties for Lucky in an effort to draw attention away from his unusual appearance and to emphasize his inner attractiveness.
As a tribute to his appearance and as a sign of his trip, Lucky was given the new name Beaux Tox. It was a playful nod to his resemblance to a person in need of Botox—a moniker that honored beauty in all its forms.
A Permanent Goal
Beaux Tox has brought so much happiness into Jamie’s life. He is more than just a pet; he is a friend to Jamie’s younger sister and assists in caring for the kittens Jamie adopted. His genuine compassion for all living things and his inquisitive temperament are examples of the caring attitude he has formed through his personal struggles.
Jamie is grateful for the opportunity to have Beaux Tox by her side while she carries on with animal rescue and care. She hopes to inspire others to look past external appearances and show compassion for animals in need by sharing Lucky’s story.
